Matthew Ross's business cards say such things as drafter, designer and intern.But when you get right down to it, he is much more— researcher, cataloger, compiler, writer and knowledge junkie (ask him anything about art, sociology or philosophy).Matthew Ross is also a big believer in the power of design.He believes that interaction of our world is wholly through and by design. We don’t go one second without interacting with something that was designed. Regardless if it is by human or natural methods.Design has such a momentous effect on our existence that the very nature of our daily lives can be changed, positively or negatively, by one simple design.And so Matthew Ross strives to implement excellent design. He seeks the elusive balance of beautiful execution and subtle harmony. This is why he is seeking an entry level position in lighting design. There is no aspect of design that is fundamentally more important than the design of light interaction in a space. This implementation is a base for all other user interaction in a space and will very quickly decide a user's opinion of that space, whether it be positive or negative.In his second year of architecture school, Matthew Ross discovered the power of light, particularly at night.
